hello,

I'm using ubuntu 10.04,

in any document, try clicking the arrow at the end of the toolbar -> visible buttons -> Right To Left or Left To Right

when I click it, nothing changes or appears,

I didn't face this problem in openoffice

Same here, I was able to reproduce this.

looks like a variation of bug #33356 

Tools -> Options -> Language Settings -> Language -> Enabled for Complex Text
Layout

seems to control display ( or not ) of these toolbar items. imo would make more sense to allow them to be added/deleted made visible etc. but be enabled/disabled based on the language settings
