Select Theme "Galaxy" in menu 'Tools > Options > LibO > View -UI: Icon Style and Size' 1. open new spreadsheet 2. select 'B2:C2' 3. Menu 'Format > Cells > Merge Cells > Split Cells' only move mouse pointer, do not click 4. <f1> You will get help text due to attached "Split_Cells.pdf" The contents is wrong. Split cells only is available for cells that have been merged before (if you want to try, redo from step 2 and merge cells 'B2:C2', so that Menu Item will not be greyed out in step 3), you can merge the cells or not but there are no alternatives as liste in Help In OOo 3.1.1 and 3.4-dev the Menu differs from the one in LibO, and Help is correct. I recommended to use theme "Galaxy" because otherwise your icons will differ from the pictures in LOCALHELP In WIKIHELP I only found a.m. Text under "Common", what is no good Idea, because behavior differs in Calc and WRITER. I additionally found <http://help.libreoffice.org/Calc/Merging_and_Splitting_Cells> describing the actual behavior.
