Description jbn10161 2011-02-21 12:09:56 UTC
Open MS Word file saved in OOXML with backward compatability. Edit in LibreOffice with tracked changes. Add comments. Save back to original OOXML format.

1. Comments are not preserved when file reopened in either LO or Word.

2. Some of original--unchanged--text in document appears as if added, i.e., with font attributes assigned to inserted edits.

OOXML document created in Word 2007 with comments

The attached document was created in Word 2007. Each comment contains the full sentence the comment references. When opened with LO 3.3.1, the text of the first comment is repeated for each comment. The same document, when saved as a Word 2003 (.doc) file, renders appropriately in LO.
Comment 2 Bob Green 2011-03-01 15:29:56 UTC
Comments in OOXML documents created in Word do not render properly in LO 3.3.1. See attachment for an example. Each comment contains the full sentence the comment references. When opened with LO 3.3.1, the text of the first comment is repeated for each comment. The same document, when saved as a Word 2003 (.doc) file, renders appropriately in LO.

Would you like to investigate this issue? This is a missing feature of the docx export filter.

Long standing openoffice bug, neglected by Sun/Oracle so far...
