Description Davide Dozza 2011-02-22 05:12:46 UTC
Created attachment 43654 [details]
document with table

When I insert data inside a cell with F2 the value is correctly inserted. But when I try to edit by click on the cell and pressing F2 the value cannot be modified.

Try with the example attached:

- click on an empty cell
- press F2
- insert a value (i.e. 200)
- press return
- click on the cell with the mouse pointer
- press F2
- correct the value (i.e. 220)
- press enter

The value is not updated.

Davide, what is your OS and LO version?
Not reproduced with LO 3.3.1 RC2 Ubuntu 10.04 x86.
Comment 2 Carlo Strata 2011-02-22 11:16:59 UTC
I confirm the bug, but Davide and me are supposing it is an OpenSuSE specific bug... We have mailed ourselves on the afternoon.

Davide has an OpenSuSE 11.3, x86-64 system.

I have an OpenSuSE 11.2, x86-64, kernel 2.6.37.1, java 1.6.0_23 system.

Both of us have installed Libò 3.3.1 RC2 from here:
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/LibreOffice:/Unstable/

that is
LibreOffice 3.3.1
OOO330m19 (Build:8)
tag libreoffice-3.3.1.2

It sound like something still not completely fixed from the bug
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=664516

Now I (or Davide) write(s) a mail to tdf-discuss cc'ed to
pmladek@suse.cz
cbosdonnat@novell.com
kyoshida@novell.com

Thank you,
  Carlo

I also have verified that in a *writer table*:

- if you write a value (i.e. 200) directly in a table cell (not by pressing F2, so the value is not preceded by an "="...);

- then click outside that cell;

- then click once more on (go back to) the first cell and press F2;

- the table value is not loaded in the edit bar (that show herself by only an "=" sign).

But this also happens in OOo 3.3.0.

Is this last behavior correct?

Cedric, it seems to be caused by the extra patches. It is pretty annoying. Could you please fix it for the LO-3.3.2 release?

A workaround is to delete the value a enter it from scratch using [F2]. It is quite bad if you need to update a more complex expression.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=664516

in OpenSuSE 11.3, x86-64 with

LibreOffice 3.3.1
OOO330m19 (Build:8)
tag libreoffice-3.3.1.2

Fixed by this commit in master branch:
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/build/commit/?id=1db9795d26c32101314882acd91467507104a984

Asked for a review to include the patch in 3.3.2.

Fine, thanks.

I hope to see this bugfix in the 3.3.2 with many other ones. ;-)

I'm waiting that version release to install Libò in many business assets: I don't want to make people coming back after the Libò use.

We are working together to achieve this.

Comment 8 Petr Mladek 2011-03-03 09:35:29 UTC
It has been reviewed and pushed into libreoffice-3-3 branch, see http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/build/commit/?h=libreoffice-3-3&id=a7ad9dfb29bc6096584880ee1a58356b083f44db

The fix will be in 3.3.2rc1 build.
