When I select some text in Writer and press Enter, I mean that agree with content of selection and accept it. So behaves Enter in oter application: content of selection remains unchanged.
But in Writer Enter deletes text. It is may be strange to users. Usually Enters adds something to text but not deletes. If I want delete selection, I would press Backspace or Delete.

Intuition is very hard to define. Obviously what one is used to seems "intuitive". I am sure if this behaviour would be changed, lots of people would be upset. There are people who have been using OOo for years. Besides, the LO behaviour seems to match that of Microsoft Word. Cedric, any more comments? Probably should resolve this as WONTFIX, but personally I don't care at all how this happens to work. I can adapt.

No way changing that a basic and old behavior that is widely shared among applications (not only LibreOffice).

But MS Word not deletes in this case but inserts enter before selection
