I have the German  Version, thats why I do not know the English meanings of the menu Items.

1) Start LibreOffice
2) Click "Extras" (The one before "Help") ==> Extension Manager
3) Click at "Auf Updates überprüfen" (Search for Updates)
4) During checking, if a new version is available, the button bottom right shows "Abbrechen" (Abort), but also after it has finished, it do not change to "Beenden" (Exit)

It seems it is already fixed in the master branch
