Description vitriol 2011-04-28 15:32:05 UTC
"Right click > Wrap" over an image has missing icons. This is not only cosmetic, but it prevents to understand the option status.
See attached screeshot. OOo33 > Correct; LibO33 > Bug.

Thank you

Missing icons in LibreOffice
Comment 3 Rainer Bielefeld Retired 2011-05-03 00:31:43 UTC
This is cosmetic, so I do not see this as a " LibreOffice 3.4 most annoying bug".

Additionally the request is not clear. Currently we have 2 competing method of resolution:
1. Checked checkbox for activated options
2. symbol icons working like icons in toolbars
   - without background and frame if inactive
   - with background and frame if active

In
"Bug 31471 - EasyHacks: iDRAW-UI: context menu for grid shows opposite of current behaviour" (The subjec is a little misleading). In Comment 9 you see the current state of considerations.

We should not do a quick shot here, but start soon to remove all those inconsitences in UI.

@vitriol:
May be you can leave a comment in Bug 31471?
Can you live with removing this one from "Blocks: 35673" in favor of a consequent solution for all context menus "what also will fis this problem".
Comment 4 vitriol 2011-05-03 01:03:53 UTC
@Rainer Bielefeld
It's not only cosmetic. The user can't understand which wrap option is selected for the image using the content menu. Without icons there is no check mark that indicate the options status.
It has to open the image properties dialog, making Wrap submenu completely useless.
Comment 5 Michael Meeks 2011-05-03 01:59:10 UTC
It is odd; and fundamentally interesting as to why this happens - there should be no substantive difference here, and the icons should be present in the fallback theme - so perhaps it points at some deeper bug.

Comment 7 Michael Meeks 2011-05-05 02:24:21 UTC
Ah - this is interesting. The items in this menu are -really- radio buttons; and under Linux we show these to the user as such; that highlights the fact that you can choose only one of them in a helpful way. Unfortunately, the layout of those radio buttons is also not ideal in the sub-menus; I'll look at fixing that first.

I am experiencing the same issue as Vitriol. Not a major issue cause the right click context may not show the icons but if I go to the top menu Format|Wrap they do show there. But i would be nice to fix this at some point. I am running Win7 32-bit.

This issue is annoying, not really minor.

Resolving this as FIXED, as the appropriate icons are shown in
a master build (3.6), January 21, 2011, Linux x68-64 and in
3.5 RC2, Windows, x86.
