Created attachment 46156 [details] sample file with several dates Dates in spreadsheets are displayed in a different format when opened in 3.4 then it was formatted in 3.3. E.g."MM/DD/YY" in 3.3 becomes "MMM D, YY" in 3.4. See attached spreadsheet file for more examples. Time codes are not affected. Seems to be caused by removal of two date format codes in 3.4 - see screenshots in the spreadsheet file
Bubli, could you take a look at this one?
Bug 36670 is the same?
*** Bug 36670 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
After uninstalling 3.4 and reinstalling 3.3.2, dates continue to appear in the wrong format introduced with 3.4. E.g. a date entered in Writer 3.3.2 to appear as Friday 29 April 2011, which displayed as 29/04/2011 in 3.4, now continues to display 29/04/2011 even after uninstalling 3.4 and reinstalling 3.3.2.
[Reproducible] with "LibreOffice 3.4Beta3 – WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) German UI [DEV300m103 (Build:3)]". I see exactly the reported problem in CALC, at least under particular circumstances. A cell formatted as DD.MM.YY in 3.3 will be shown as DD. MMM.YY with LibO3.4Beta3 for a normal entry, but not for "=today()" Problem is not limited to Spreadsheet, also WRITER is affected, pls. see my attached "sample from 3.1.1_a.odt". That document has been created with OOo 3.1.1 because I do not have LibO 3.3 on my PC, but the effect "Date formatting changes when opened with LibO 3.4Beta" is exactly the same.
Created attachment 46278 [details] Sample Document, see Comment 5
Further to Comment 4: after reverting to 3.3.2, the incorrect date format introduced by 3.4 beta3 persists in both Calc and Writer.
> Time codes are not affected. Seems to be caused by removal of two date format > codes in 3.4 - see screenshots in the spreadsheet file They're actually not removed, just moved a bit down the list as the order of formats somehow shuffled in 3.4 (no idea why so far). It's a mess :(
Fixed then for 3.4 (commit 8d08e19822871)
It's now working correctly on my OSX with today's daily build images
