Hi, I just wanted to include http://a2.twimg.com/a/1308256633/images/logos/logo_twitter_withbird_1000_allblue.png in my presentation. Sadly this does not work, as the transparent background is rendered dark black. This is: libreoffice3.4-impress-3.4.0-12.i586
NOT reproduced with Ubuntu 10.04.2 x86 LO 3.4 What is your OS?
Created attachment 48147 [details] screenshot of black background
$ cat /etc/redhat-release Fedora release 15 (Lovelock) xorg-x11-drv-intel-2.15.0-3.fc15.i686 xorg-x11-server-utils-7.5-5.fc15.i686 $ uname -a Linux thinkpad 2.6.38.8-32.fc15.i686.PAE #1 SMP Mon Jun 13 19:55:27 UTC 2011 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
Not reproduced with LibO 3.4.1 rc1 under Ubuntu 10.04 x86_64 with FR langpack nor with LibO 3.3.3 FR. Best regards. JBF
I have to clarify. This happens just if one right clicks in Firefox on the image to copy it into the clipboard and then pastes it into Impress. Saving it to disk and then inserting it, works just fine... Jean-Baptiste, tester8, could you retest?
With the help of Kongstad on IRC we found out that the image can be pasted in GIMP without any problem. However, maybe it is pasted as a JPG in Impress and therefore loosing transparency.

Reproduced in LO 3.5.0 beta2+ (LibreOffice 3.5.0beta2+ Version ID : 8f03437-7f15fca-1fc8c06-ca8e46d-b96fade) with ctrl+C in Firefox and ctrl+V in Impress oe Writer. Same procedure in Abiword keeps the transparency. Best regards. JBF

In LibreOffice, when you insert the image in the file it fetches as transparent. If your file is not transparent as PNG extension should be then https://www.australianwritings.com/thesis-help/ your file will be shown as a rigid picture inside the document so your file must be transparent if you need a transparent illusion.
