Description Mohn 2011-06-18 08:21:09 UTC
When export from LibreOffice Draw to PNG file I set 300 dpi and A4 format papper.
Every time change settings uncomfortably.
I propose to add default export to image settings.

[This is an automated message.]
This bug was filed before the changes to Bugzilla on 2011-10-16. Thus it
started right out as NEW without ever being explicitly confirmed. The bug is
changed to state NEEDINFO for this reason. To move this bug from NEEDINFO back
to NEW please check if the bug still persists with the 3.5.0 beta1 or beta2 prereleases.
Details on how to test the 3.5.0 beta1 can be found at:

This functionality doesn't exist in:
Version 3.6.1.2 (Build ID: e29a214)

If this is going to be done, a 'Reset' button should be added as well.

The file export dialogs have been greatly changed since the original filing of this enhancement request. Plus I believe the original description is not detailed enough because the dialogs vary greatly depending on WHICH file format is chosen. For example, in PNG, "resolution" section doesn't really affect anything. And the "Width/Height" are computed based on size of the objects and/or page, so remembering those does nothing really useful. And there is no page size.

Hashem Masoud marked Bug 54035 as a duplicate of this bug. I disagree, and don't think it should be considered covered in THIS bug/enhancement report. Bug 54035 is a request to remember the FILE FORMAT that the user chose in the file dialog (not the export dialog). For example, one might want to export a dozen objects to PNG format. And the export dialog does not remember that the user chose PNG the last time, so the user has to select it over and over again, which is very irritating. Generally users will be working with the same type of file format for exporting, so remembering the previous selection would make a lot of sense. That proposed change has nothing to do with the actual export settings, and doesn't involve a UI change at all.

I believe bug 54035 should be reopened and kept separate from this reuqest and this one needs far more work defining exactly which settings should or should not be remembered for EACH of the file export formats.

As stated before the situation has changed. Export settings are entered in the options dialog. Closing this bug as WORKSFORME.
