In MS Office rotated images saved in a docx-file
are not shown rotated in libre office

Create a new Word 2010 document

  - import any image
  - rotate it
  - save it to docx
  - open it with LibreOffice
  - the image isnot rotated

Reproduced on LibreOffice 3.4 340m1(Build:12). Saw your post on the on bug 38701.

So far the problems I see that you brought up:
1. Text box: Does not show up at all
2. Rotated Image: Shows up, but image is unrotated.
3. Non-rotated, imported image: Shows up fine.
4. Self-created inserted image from the insert toolbar of MS Word: Does not show up.

It seems that LO Writer has problems importing some image objects from .docx files. Can anyone else confirm the cases?

[This is an automated message.]
This bug was filed before the changes to Bugzilla on 2011-10-16. Thus it
started right out as NEW without ever being explicitly confirmed. The bug is
changed to state NEEDINFO for this reason. To move this bug from NEEDINFO back
to NEW please check if the bug still persists with the 3.5.0 beta1 or beta2 prereleases.
Details on how to test the 3.5.0 beta1 can be found at:

Comment 3 Gerhard T. 2011-12-30 00:18:23 UTC
The problem is reproducible with LibreOffice 3.5 Beta2.
Comment 4 A (Andy) 2013-01-20 13:28:56 UTC
reproducible with LO 3.6.4.3. (Win7 Home, 64bit)
Comment 5 Michael Meeks 2013-06-03 19:10:48 UTC
Write has no ability to rotate images by arbitrary amounts; having said that we can do 90/180 degree rotations in each direction - perhaps we could special case those. Failing that we could re-render the images at an angle, but that's rather nasty & painful.
