Description Rainer Bielefeld Retired 2011-07-05 23:33:11 UTC
In release notes LibreOffice 3.4.1 Final (2011-07-01) we promised: "LibreOffice 3.4.2, available at the end of July, will target enterprise deployments."
Here the bugs should be listed that must be fixed to fulfill that promise. These bugs should also be listed in "Bug 35673 - LibreOffice 3.4 most annoying bugs". As consequence, most bugs appearing here should already been known from Bug 35673

Nominate: "Bug 37488 - PRINTING table borders in Writer not printed if there are also images in the document, DRAW object printed crippled". A Text processor should be able to print.

Nominate: "Bug 33463 - Comments are lost after FILESAVE as DOCX". Unacceptable data loss.

Nominate: "Bug 32779 - FILESAVE docx: author missing, current date instead of comment's date": Unacceptable data loss

Nominate bug 36766: Gradient and Transparency issues

Despite his name, this bug is far to be invisible for users ;) Since it was reported many months ago by a lot of users, nothing seems to have been done to fix it. But in my opinion it is a highly critical regression from openoffice: a presentation program should be able to display things correctly !

To remind the problem:

1) EVERY Impress functionalities using, in a way or another, a gradient or a transparency effect are UNUSABLE, because they are not correctly rendered in presentation mode;

2) Every presentations files previously made with openoffice and using such functionalities are of course incorrectly displayed: so, many people now think that libreoffice is not completely compatible with openoffice (see users comments on forums).

Because of this very critical problem, I am still on openoffice, and I know that I am not alone: it is really difficult to use libreoffice with such a bug. It's like bug 37488, but with more functionalities involved. So I think it should be a priority to fix it before the next release, especially for a version targeted for an entreprise deployment !

Nominate: Bug 34805 - Recovery of MS OFFICE documents fails after crash
Comment 4 Rainer Bielefeld Retired 2011-07-11 22:44:22 UTC
Nominate "Bug 39155 - FORMATTING: Word wrap does work in the header, footer,
table", what makes Writer unusable for lots of users. DATALOSS, the problem
persists when you open the damaged document with a version what normally does
not show that problem.

Nominate "Bug 39159 - PRINTING: Switching radio buttons "Selection <-> All" Crashes".
Comment 6 Petr Mladek 2011-07-12 08:36:23 UTC
Please note that this bugs has been discussed on the last tech steering call. It was decided that it won't be officially supported. Too many meta bugs are confusing, hard to monitor and prioritize.

If these bugs block enterprise usage, they fit the criteria for most annoying bugs and should be mentioned in the bug #35673.

Feel free to use this bug as a playground but do not set any expectations about it, please :-)
