left clicking the character size icon on the formatting toolbar does not initiate any action. This icon is dead. Ref: LibreOffice 3.4.1 and 3.4.2 Win XP SP3 Pentium 4
(In reply to comment #0) > left clicking the character size icon on the formatting toolbar does not > initiate any action. This icon is dead. Which icon do you mean exactly?
Hi, I use the dutch version of LibreOffice, so I know only the dutch name of the icon: 'tekengrootte', which means 'character size'. The icon is positioned right between the character type icon. The layout is a square with a lowercase 'a' in the left corner and two triangles in upper right corner (one triangle with top high and one triangle with top low, symbolizing enlarging and lowering the character). When this information is not sufficient, please tell me in which map I can find the icon files. Then I could send it as an attachment. Regards, Harry C. @Carolus If you mean "Increase Font" and "Reduce Font" you have to selected the text that you wont to change. These commands work with a selection.
Failed to reproduce with LibreOffice 3.4 340m1(Build:103) on OpenSuse Linux. If vitriol assumption that the Carolus means "Increase" and "Decrease Font" is the equivalent of Character size, then bug is not reproducible. To reproduce: 1. View -> Toolbars -> Formatting (Make sure it is on) 2. Make sure the buttons "Increase" and "Decrease Font" are visible by clicking the drop down button at the end of the toolbar. 3. Highlight text and click increase/decrease font. Font size should change accordingly.
Hi, No, this is only one single icon, not two commands for increasing and decreasing fonts. These two commands are also available and work well. But the one that does not initiate any action is one single icon with (in dutch) the explaining text 'tekengrootte' = 'character size'. This inactive icon has almost the same look as 'increase font' and 'decrease font', but has two arrow triangles instead of one. I did not ask for how to do something. I only would report a bug. An icon that does not work is not normal in programs. And selecting (highlighting) a text does not change anything in this case. This also replies Jeffrey's comment. Created attachment 50973 [details] Screenshot pointing to font size button (In reply to comment #7) > I have the toolbar vertically on the right side. My description is based > on that configuration. Aha, I got it! Step to reproduce: 1. Drag your formatting toolbar to the right (or left) end of the window until it snap vertically, as in attachment. 2. Note the 'Font size' button, circled in attachment. 3. While not select any text, click it. Expected: I'm not sure what to expect [1], but ... Actual: Nothing happen 4. Selecting some text in the document, and click it. Expected: There should be some way to adjust font size Actual: Nothing happen CONFIRMED with LibreOffice 3.4.3 OOO340m1 (Build:302) Windows XP [1] Because in horizontal toolbar, it is the drop-down list of font size. And for 'Font name' in vertical toolbar, it is the 'Character' dialog like when you select Format > Character, which doesn't as same as drop-down list of font name in horizontal toolbar.
