build from master (update around 23:00 2011-08-09), 

- start writer document
- type bla bla
- copy bla
- go to new line
- paste
 > no bla

- start 3.4.2 writer doc
- paste

As an aside, a good thing to do here on reporting "master" bugs is to cut and paste the build id from help about.

*ha ha*, yeah, indeed. "paste doesn't work->please paste in build id", luckily our copy/paste-source works, its the paste/paste-dest that fails.
