LibO 3.3.2 (French) is installed on a Windows XP SP3 system. Can't install 3.4.2 : the installer asks for the libreoffice33.msi file that has been deleted. I arrange to get 3.3.0 and 3.3.3 installers (was not able to find 3.3.2): - 3.3.0 refuse to install ("A new version of LibreOffice 3.3 was found. To install an older version, the newer version needs to be removed first"). - 3.3.3 installer asks also for the libreoffice33.msi file. Which one I provide, I then get an error ("[...]invalid file[...]"). Notice : - Before to install LibO (3.2 ?), I have uninstalled OpenOffice.
Have you tried to remove LO with windows own 'add/remove programs' from the control panel or some other program like 'revo uninstaller' ? This should work.
(In reply to comment #1) It is in the title: "can't uninstall...". A "program like 'revo uninstaller'" is not for the common end user. I mean, as an IT service provider and software developer, I'm not looking for a solution for my self but for reliable software and improvements of some of them (like LO).
(In reply to comment #2) I thought you already tried the method below, that's why I pointed you to 'revo'. 1) Downloading the 3.3.2 package, unpacking it, quitting just before installing. 2) Go to the directory where the unpacked files are. 3) Run setup.exe. 4) Select 'Remove'.
@Francis Leboutte: Any new results?
(In reply to comment #4) I had to use Revo (which seems to be a good uninstaller).
"libreoffice33.msi" seems to be no longer used for normal installation with 3.4, so I doubt that there will be much activity for a bugfix. I believe this one is related to or DUP of "Bug 33939 - Installation validation"
DUP for now. @reporter: Please feel free to reopen this Bug if you find evidence that we have an independent issue here. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 33939 ***
