The page at http://www.libreoffice.org/download/ shows the following download location for the version 3.4.3: http://download.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/stable/3.4.3/win/x86/LibO_3.4.3_Win_x86_install_multi.exe This URL redirects to http://ftp.uni-muenster.de/pub/software/DocumentFoundation/libreoffice/stable/3.4.3/win/x86/LibO_3.4.3_Win_x86_install_multi.exe, which is OK, but some time later 3.4.4 will be released and the URL http://download.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/stable/3.4.3/win/x86/LibO_3.4.3_Win_x86_install_multi.exe will become unusable and will return a 404 page. All the old releases are available under http://download.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/stable like 3.4.2: http://download.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/stable/3.4.2/win/x86/LibO_3.4.2_Win_x86_install_multi.exe and this is great. The only problem is that the current stable release (3.4.3) does not have a permanent URL now. The actual reason behind this issue is to make the newest version of LibreOffice available in Npackd (http://code.google.com/p/windows-package-manager/)
I changed the component to WWW, because it belongs to those who administrate the website, it is not an installer bug. However, it would be hard to give a permanent URL to the latest version, because we always have two latest versions. Currently they are 3.4.4 and 3.3.4.
I did not mean a "magical" URL that always redirects to the newest available version, but a stable URL for each available version including the newest.
[This is an automated message.] This bug was filed before the changes to Bugzilla on 2011-10-16. Thus it started right out as NEW without ever being explicitly confirmed. The bug is changed to state NEEDINFO for this reason. To move this bug from NEEDINFO back to NEW please check if the bug still persists with the 3.5.0 beta1 or beta2 prereleases. Details on how to test the 3.5.0 beta1 can be found at: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/BugHunting_Session_3.5.0.-1 more detail on this bulk operation: http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/RFC-Operation-Spamzilla-tp3607474p3607474.html

things has moved once again! !"$§%§"$%§$%§$! This URL is not available anymore: http://download.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/stable/3.4.2/win/x86/LibO_3.4.2_Win_x86_install_multi.exe
(In reply to comment #2) > I did not mean a "magical" URL that always redirects to the newest available > version, but a stable URL for each available version including the newest. The download scripts at the websites fetch the content of http://download.documentfoundation.org/stable/ so this is the permanent link, any further subfolders have to be temporary due to ongoing releases.
http://download.documentfoundation.org/stable/ returns 404 :-)
a very simple solution would be to *don't* move the directory from http://download.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/stable/ to http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ once a new version is released.
We need to move the files around, in order to not clutter mirrors with old versions. The "old" directory is solely served by our server, whereas all other directories are mirrored worldwide. However, despite the "old" name, the most recent version can always also be downloaded from http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ Closing bug. Please reopen if you disagree. :)
