Description Jamie Fell 2011-09-08 09:04:13 UTC
Last night I was just creating a document and when I was halfway done, I just saved it. Today I loaded it to finish it. LibreOffice showed the splash screen when it loads and then, it all crashed. Although the mouse was functioning, everything else freezed. This ended up in unnecessary manual shutdowns.

Hi,

This is a somewhat older version of LibreOffice, and there were known issues on some platforms with previous versions (especially the .0 releases. Please update your version of LibreOffice to one of the ccurrent production releases, either 3.3.4 or 3.4.3.

Additionally, you do not say whether this is the package provided via the LibreOffice download page, or a LinuxMint package. If it is a LinuxMint package, then you should address your report to their bug handling system.

I can confirm that I am having the same problem with LibreOffice in Linux Mint LMDE. I had the problem with all three of the following: Installed version of LibreOffice from the distro; version 3.3.4 downloaded from http://www.libreoffice.org/download/; version 3.4.3, also downloaded and extracted.
Crash and function is variable. The program will boot, but the X will crash and I get kicked out to a login prompt. Sometimes it will simply hang the system and require a hard reset.
Did not have the problem with Ubuntu 10.04.

Jamie, George: Is it for every document even a new one ?
If specific document, could you please attach a document ?
If not specific, it's obviously a distribution problem.

Don't worry anymore, moved to Ubuntu 11.10 and everyting works.
