Description j-b-m 2011-10-04 10:56:27 UTC
Text rotation in a table is lost when saving the document in Microsoft word format.

To reproduce:

* Create new Writer document
* Add table (2x2 for example)
* Insert text in a cell
* Rotate text in the cell (Format > Character > Rotate 90°
* Save in Word format
* Close & reopen document, the text is not rotated.

Not reproducible with "LibreOffice 3.4.3 RC2 - WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) German UI [OOO340m1 (Build:302)]" and saved as W2007 .doc / .docx.
Documents look cruelly damaged in MS Word Viewer, but rotation is sown correct when reopened in LibO.

@reporter:
what "Word format"? How can you know that it's not a FILEOPEN problem?
May I ask you to read hints on <http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport> carefully?
Then please:
- Write a meaningful Summary
- Attach sample documents (not only screenshot), source.odt and result.doc
- Attach screenshots with comments if you believe that that might explain the
  problem better than a text comment. Best way is to insert your screenshots
  into a DRAW document and to add comments that explain what you want to show
- Contribute a step by step instruction containing every key press and every
  mouse click how to reproduce your problem (and if possible how to created a
  sample document from the scratch)
- add information
  -- what exactly is unexpected
  -- and why do you believe it's unexpected (cite Help or Documentation!)
  -- concerning your PC
  -- concerning your OS (Version, Distribution, Language)
  -- concerning your LibO localization (UI language)
  –- Libo settings that might be related to your problems
  -- how you launch LibO and how you opened the sample document
  –- If you can contribute an OOo Issue that might be useful
  -- everything else crossing your mind after you read a.m. URL
May be you can test <http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport_Details> for submitting bug reports?

Please file Bug reports with status UNCONFIRMED if your are not absolutely sure that you contributed all required background information, that the problem will be reproducible with information you can provide or that your enhancement request will be accepted! Thank you!

Sorry for the poor quality of my original report. Attached is a sample .odt file containing a 2x2 table with the word "Hello" in first cell. This text is rotated 90°.

To reproduce the issue:

* Open file (Original ODT document - first attachment)
* Save file in Word .doc format (Will give the second attachment)
* Close LibreOffice

* Reopen the .doc file, text rotation is lost.

This is a FILESAVE issue since opening the .doc format in Microsoft Word also loses text rotation.

Issue was originally produced on a Windows 7 64bit PC, but I could reproduce it on Ubuntu Linux 11.10

Correct rotation, but wrong alignment with Parallel Dev-Installation of "LibreOffice 3.5.0 Beta3- WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) German UI [Build-ID: e40af8c-10029e3-615e522-88673a2-727f724]?

[Reproducible] with reporter's sample and "LibreOffice 3.5.0 RC2 German UI/Locale [Build-ID: e371a95-bf68a13-5a1aa2b-d3c1ae9-b938258] on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit). Also reproducible with own document.
