Problem description: when you go to outdent(the opposite of indent) or decrease indent does not stop at the margins. you can outdent all the way until all of the text is no longer on the page. Steps to reproduce: 1. type anything EX "why is this happening to my paper?" 2. press the decrease indent about 8 times. Current behavior: when you outdent the text will go out side the margin and even out side the page. Expected behavior: outdenting should stop at the margin.

Confirmed: this still occurs in 3.4.4 for OSX
Thanks for bugreport Now I understand how to place pictures and other object outside of page: just make them "Anchor as character" and outdent several times. What about functionality: may be function "Reset indent" will be more useful for such situations?
I don't understand, this is a bug not a tool. you should not be able to indent or outdent past the margins.
And if I need to place something outside of page? In msWord we can done it simply by moving object outside of page. And in Writer we can done this only by using indents and outdents.
I think this is a bug and have marked it as such. Also have lowered it to low priority as there are easy workarounds and fixes.
Bug still exists in Versions 3.4.6 and 4.0.0 beta 2. The cursor can also be moved beyond the paper margins with: [1] Left paper margin: Format > Paragraph... > Indents & Spacing > Indent > Before text > Input higher negativ value [2] Right paper margin: Format > Paragraph... > Indents & Spacing > Indent > After text > Input higher negativ value, insert characters up to the right paper margin See also bug 42708.
It seemed to me that the original bug from Andrew is fixed with the patch of bug 42708. The behaviour I mentioned in comment 7 still exists in version 4.3.1.2.
Yes it seems as though it has been fixed.
