OK, links never worked. It means, they are not converted as hyperlinks, only as a text. The positionning of the pictures (especially in the tables) cannot be completely converted because the alignments in ODF and in WPD file-formats are not equivalent. So we are trying here to do our best so that user can replace the images in the converted documents without losing any of them.
I assigned this one to me, but it will not be fixed for 3.5 for sure. I need to think about the possible heuristics a bit more.
reproducible with LO 4.0.2.2 (Win7 Home, 64bit), but I will take a further look on it within the next days

All hyperlinks in the samples are on images. Do you have any sample with a hyperlink in text? These might be represented differently.
