Description Robinson Tryon (qubit) 2011-11-22 20:48:54 UTC
The copyright dates are specified in the LibreOffice 'About' box as follows:

----
LibreOffice is copyright © 2000, 2011 LibreOffice contributors and/or their affiliates. All rights reserved.

LibreOffice is derived from OpenOffice.org. OpenOffice.org is copyright © 2000, 2011 Oracle and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved.
----

The current specification, using a comma, appears to indicate that the LibreOffice code is copyright 2000 and copyright 2011, but none of the years between. Ranges in copyright dates are typically specified with a hypen, for example in the About box for Mozilla Firefox:

----
Firefox
(c)1998-2011 Contributors. All rights reserved.
----

I'd suggest that the LibreOffice copyright statement use a hyphen. Here's how the copyrights would look like after the change:

----
LibreOffice is copyright © 2000 - 2011 LibreOffice contributors and/or their affiliates. All rights reserved.

LibreOffice is derived from OpenOffice.org. OpenOffice.org is copyright © 2000 - 2011 Oracle and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved.

[Reproducible] with "LibreOffice Portable 3.3.3 - WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) German UI [OOO330m19 (Build:301 Tag 3.3.3.1)]", so not a MASTER bug. I do not know whether that's a real bug of some English spelling.

@András:
Can you please check?
Please feel free to reassign (or reset Assignee to default) if it’s not your area or if provided information is not sufficient. Please set Status to ASSIGNED if you accept this Bug.

Yes -- I've actually been able to "repro" this in older versions (e.g. OpenOffice.org 3.2.0), but I figured it would be easiest to just mention one version for simplicity.

You say that this is not a MASTER bug. Why not? I'm not very familiar with LO bug reporting rules, but I figured it would be most helpful to list the newest version of LO that exhibits the bug behavior. Showing that current builds of master still show the behavior seemed like the best way to convince people to fix it, but if you guys have a different approach to bug reporting, I'm all ears.

I think it's more a grammar issue than a spelling error.

I'd be happy to make a patch and submit it. Just let me know if you guys support the change first, and I'll make up a patch pronto.

Please make up a patch and sent it to libreoffice@lists.freedesktop.org with [PATCH] in subject (no need to subscribe). It is a legal text and I cannot tell, if it can be accepted. Developers on libreoffice@lists.freedesktop.org will know better. Thanks!

Really not a big thing, but Verison "Master" tastes like "Regression"
And a patch would be great, so I reassign for now.
