In Writer, you can set your first name, last name, company, etc... in 
Tools > Options > LibreOffice > User Data

When you export any document to PDF, this personal information gets its way to the PDF meta-data. (You can retrieve it with File > Properties in Adobe Reader for instance)

However, if you do not set your personal information, the 'Author' field in the exported PDF gets set to 'School Computer Science'.

IMHO It would be better to leave it blank in that case :-)

I can not confirm that (LO 3.4.5, Windows 7). However there is another bug for the author field.

3.5.0 and 3.6.0 master saves author correctly (at least on Fedora 64 bit), we can see this using Evince and press File->Properties
