Description dqmqdegc 2012-01-04 22:11:35 UTC
Hi,
i use LibreOffice calc with a spreadsheet that i put on Dropbox and i access this mostly from Ubuntu but also occasionally from Windows(don't think thats the problem, but i guess it could be though?) and every few days the formatting for each column is lost and reverts to no formatting. Like i would have a column for currency and a column with a date format (MM/DD/YY) and several columns with bold fonts and indented 10 pt etc and all of a sudden the any new cells i use are just reverted to no formatting.

Also perhaps related, sometimes i will have a column for the date and if i try to put in say 1/4/12 the 1/4 will format as 1/4th or 1/3/12 will try to show up as 1/3rd/2012 etc and it wont format correctly even if i try to reset the column formatting so i just give up and input 01/03/12 or 02/05/12 etc with the zeroes...not a big deal but just wanted to pass along...

btw, thanks for a great (and free!) Office Suite...i can't believe all the excellent free software thats available out there on both Windows and Linux.

Please check if this bug is reproducible with the latest stable release.

Hi, i think i was the original poster of this bug, i can't believe nobody else has seen it so must just be something i'm doing incorrectly i guess. I think it also happened when i used Open Office about a year or two ago but not sure.

I just use LibreOffice Calc to make a monthly spreadsheet and have a date in left column, a few descriptive columns with various font types and alignment and then a currency column and every 10-20 times i open the document to edit it, it will lose the column formatting but not the row formatting fwiw.

If nobody else has this problem though then its not too important.

Thanks.

Could you attach any example documents to allow others to check on different
system/build?
Still important information is missing about your configuration:
- LO version
- operating systems
- used filetypes
What exactly are you doing with the file (just save/reload)?
And last but not least if this bug is reproducible with the latest stable release.
