It would be nice if Writer were to support checkmark lists, such as Zim does. Checkmark lists work as follows: The user starts a line with two brackets [] then his text. When the user presses Enter, the [] brackets turn into an empty box (unchecked state icon) and the new line automatically has an unchecked state icon at the beginning (similar to how all list types work). However, with checked lists, the user can click on the unchecked state icon to turn it into a checked state icon. If need be I can write a page describing how this terrific feature works in Zim. I use this feature very often. Thanks!
This is a feature/enhancement request, therefore changed 'Importance' field to 'enhancement'. Improved the summary to make clear that this is a request, not a bug report.
Created attachment 61364 [details] Checkmark demo Thank you Roman. I add here an attachment to demonstrate how the checkmark feature looks.
In LibreOffice 5.2.1.2 is not implemented.
How about doing this a) per autoformat (available for configuration out of the box; could be hard-coded) or b) using special list styles (lacks on interactivity)? If this needs to be a form control I recommend to introduce an extension where a wizard converts a text list to some form controls. See also bug 146215.
I believe this request should be split in two; or at least considered as two separate issues: 1. Support for checkmark-lists _existing_, regardless of how one creates them. 2. The autocorrect-ish detection of brackets [ ], and their replacement with checkmark lists The second feature is just extra convenience and not required for the first to already be usable.
