Created attachment 55493 [details] Test kit Steps how to reproduce with test kit and parallel Dev-Installation of "LibreOffice 3.5.0 Beta2- WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) German UI [Build-ID : 8589e48-760cc4d-f39cf3d-1b2857e-60db978] 1. download an unzip test kit 2. Open sample.odt 3. Click into Header 3. Use scroll slider to scroll up and down Unexpectedly you will find ugly clones of the blue dotted header- / footer- / page break lines anywhere in the page view (see screenshots) It's not a particular 3.5.0Beta problem, I see that in Master since we have that new design.
Created attachment 55585 [details] Screenshot: fdo#44725.png Reproducible with LibO Master (2012-01-13) [LOdev 3.6.0alpha0+ · Build ID: aa7e105-b2dd236-9eed775-d06f752-4dba2d1 · libreoffice-3-5-branch-point]
Cedric, any thoughts ? :-) it's a tad embarrassing; I thought we fixed this, but perhaps that was only for page-breaks; trivial to repeat for me with Libreoffice 3.5.1.2 - the trick is to click into the header [ to activate header editing ], wait for the header drop-down / divider to show, and then scroll with the vertical scroll-bar. :-) Thanks.
[Reproducible] with LibreOffice 3.5.2.1 (Build-ID: 1488b14-519dc6f-43021d0-52136ea-8d338cc) running on MacOS X 10.6.8 German. Not terrible, but annoying, and giving a bad impression to new users ...
Changed OS picker from 'Windows' to 'All' because not only Windows is affected -- at least, also MacOS ...
Seems related to bug 46518 - "UI: Header, footer & and page break indicators in multipage view".
Fix for "Bug 46141 - UI: Header/footer prompts should only appear if user clicks in header/footer area" improves situation (normally noth8ing visible what could appear at wrong place), but when I click into header that Header info appears the reported effect still is reproducible with the test kit.
(In reply to comment #6) > Fix for "Bug 46141 - UI: Header/footer prompts should only appear if user > clicks in header/footer area" improves situation (normally noth8ing visible > what could appear at wrong place), but when I click into header that Header > info appears the reported effect still is reproducible with the test kit. I can confirm Rainer’s observation after some testing on Mac OS X (10.6.8), so this is an OS-independent improvement.
Still reproducible using Linux Mint 14 x64 LibreOffice Version 4.1.0.0.alpha0+ (Build ID: cbc722733bb272b0f26efec09b478bed9a3cdb9) (build today). Therefore I move it from mab3.5 to mab3.6
reproducible with 4.0.4 and 4.1.0 releases on Win7 64bit. issue is more evident if you scroll up and down very fast. moving it to mab4.0 vs. 3.6 because 3.6 has reached EOL so we are in the process of closing the meta bug.
(This is an automated message.) Setting priority to highest as this is a 4.0 MAB. This is part of an effort to make the importance of MAB reflected in priority too.
Moving to mab4.1 (Bug 60270) because: - 4.0 reached EOL (End Of Life) - bug confirmed in later version
still reproducible with 4.2.3.3 and 4.3.0.0alpha1+ - you have to open document - click in the header area in order to make the blue header tabs appear - then scroll up and down with the slider - blue header tabs clones will appear randomly in the middle of the document - to make them disappear click anywhere in the document moving to mab4.2 list since 4.1.x is EOL
bug persists in LibO 4.3.3.2 and 4.5.0.0.alpha0+ Build ID: 84a6d8eeaab540e5b2ea3baffd919903dff8c247 TinderBox: Win-x86@39, Branch:master, Time: 2014-11-22_23:41:04 moving this to mab4.3 list since 4.2.x is END OF LIFE
I DO NOT UNDERSTAND ANY OF THIS . ALL I KNOW LIBRE OFFICE WILL ONLY SHOW FIRST PAGE OF DOCUMENT , OTHER PAGES ARE MISSING (EXAMPLE) MY COMCAST STATEMENT HAS 3 PAGES WHEN CLICKING TO open LIBRE ONLY OPENS THE FIRST PAGE. WHERE ARE THE OTHER TWO PAGES? ALSO THE FIRST PAGE HAS SENTENCES RUNNING INTO OTHER SENTENCES CANNOT MAKE OUT UNLESS I ZOOM TO 150%
previous comment seems unrelated to this report. retested under Win8.1x64 bug persists in LibO 4.4.3.2 ad recent 5.1.0.0 daily build
