Description km307 2012-02-16 08:59:03 UTC
When convert Simplified Chinese to Traditional Chinese in LO Writer, the Simplified Chinese letter "同" is converted to Traditional Chinese "衕". In fact, the correct one should be "同".
Comment 1 Jiehong 2012-03-15 04:58:38 UTC
I confirm the issue. However, if you try to convert only 同 then you get 衕, which is a valid Chinese character.

The problem comes from the fact that 同学 should be simplified as 同學 but 胡同 should be converted as 衚衕.

So it's context dependant. That's the issue.

Platform: All (since Windows and Linux x86_64 (for me))

Yes, it is content related, but in most case, "同" is a lot more common. So, if LOO cannot do content sensitive Chinese conversion, it is better to use "同".

BTW, I haven't try "胡", and I also suggest to leave it as "胡" which is more commonly used than "衚".

Hi, the Chinese text conversion file just locate "core/i18npool/source/textconversion/data", stc_char.dic & stc_word.dic.

Remove "同:衕" from stc_char.dic could resolve this issue, but I don't know
how to used "衕" in Traditional Chinese, even after search in google.

It seems “衚衕“ not used by Traditional Chinese else, any advise here? thanks.

I'll check if more conversion bugs in these dic file, and submit a simple patch
to fix it.
