Description SebastiansPublicAddress 2012-02-28 10:40:46 UTC
When I resize a window of, for example, Calc (same for Writer), the Frame of the WIndowmanager is resized, but the contents of the window are not resized.

When I make the window larger, contents of other application show through the new space, when I make it smaller, the libreoffice display is truncated.

When I maximize the window with the maximize-button, it's ok again.
When I restore the old size, after maximizing, with the restore size buton, it's still ok.
But when I resize by dragging the border, the bug's there again.

Windowmanager is Xfce 4.8. I didn't see this behaviour with any other application apart from libreoffice, so I guess it's no Windowmanager bug.

OS is sidux (mostly debian sid)

I am not sure to understand what is the problem. Please could you attach a screenshot ?
Did you try to play with zoom options ?

Best regards. JBF

Screenshot after resizing

Pulled the left border to the left (--> blue background looks through).
Pulled the top border down (--> top contents of calc not visible anymore)

The blue part is my desktop background,

Hi Sebastian. That doesn't look nice. Could you retry using the latest LO release?
Comment 4 SebastiansPublicAddress 2013-05-28 18:51:36 UTC
Hi James,
My current version is Version 4.0.3.3 (Build ID: 400m0(Build:3))
and with that, I can reproduce the bug.
Comment 5 SebastiansPublicAddress 2013-05-28 19:04:33 UTC
But it looks different than before.
The background doesn't show through anymore. Instead of that, in the additional space, I see lot's of copies of the borders (I'll upload a screenshot after dragging at the top left border).

And it happens for the top and left border, only:

Dragging at the top left corner: Bug happens at top and left border.
Dragging at the bottom right corner: Bug doesn't happen
Dragging at the top right corner: Bug happens at the top, but not at the right
Dragging at the bottom left corner: Bug happens at the left, but not at the bottom.

Dragging at the borders: Bug happens when I drag at the left or top border.

"Doesn't happen" actually means: It happens, but it's ok as soon as I release the mouse after dragging or after about a second.

Hi Sebastian,

I think what you want is the choice Optimal for the zoom factor. Does it work for you ?

Hi Jean-Baptiste,
why do you think a zoom factor is involved? This bug is about resizing
the window, no zooming.

Because in your description you said that the content of the window is not resized. If you set the zoom level at optimal then, when you change the size of the window, you will still see the same content.
But it is possible I did not understand the problem :-)

Now I understand the confusion.
No, I don't expect the contents to be resized zoom-like.
When I make the window larger, I just expect to see more of the document (and Menubar and what else there is).
In a speadsheet, for example, I expect to see more cells.

The problem is that the contents stay the same as before, and the additional space is filled with garbage (when I enlarge the window).
Please see the screenshots.

Sebastian
