Description Niklas Johansson 2012-03-02 02:01:26 UTC
Problem description:

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open Impress
2. Go to View - Master - Slide Master
3. Select the Object Area For AutoLayouts and increase or decrease the height of the area.
4. Save the file and close
5. Reopen and go back to the Slide Master

Current behavior:
The height has returned to it's original size.

Expected behavior:
The height you'd set should have been remembered.

Extra info:
I set this to an file open-issue because when you save the file the height of the area gets saved to the odp (or otp). You can check this by opening the file in Lotus Symphony or unzip the odp and check the styles.xml (try searching for presentation:class="outline") you should be able to see that the svg:height is set to your specified height. This indicates that the problem occurs when the file is loaded.

Oh, and this is an issue that is inherited from OOo.

Platform (if different from the browser):
Seen it on Mac and Linux as well so it isn't a platform issue.

Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:9.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/9.0.1

example of problem

Reproduced in 3.3.4 and 3.5.1 on Fedora 64 bit
Steps to reproduce:
0. Open attachment in Impress
1. on "Slides" pane right mouse click and select "New slide"
Expected: newly created slide has the same layout as already existing
Actually: layout is different. Especially on 3.5.1: on "Slides" pane all slides are empty.

Reproduced in LibreOffice 3.5.4.2 in Arch Linux x86-64.

This bug makes master pages difficult to use as height changes to the "Object Area for AutoLayouts" cannot be saved.
Comment 3 aravindet 2013-04-19 01:25:53 UTC
Reproduced in 4.0.2.2 on Ubuntu 12.04.

This is a fairly significant breakage of Master Slide functionality.

Just to reinforce the original poster. I see the same issue and I find this bug super annoying. Any "advanced" user will run into this fairly quickly. Is anyone aware of a workaround till this bug gets fixed (I hate having to reset everytime I open a presentation that has a modified masterpage)?

Just ran into this problem. Very annoying indeed. Fix would be much appreciated.
Comment 6 Niklas Johansson 2014-04-14 11:22:46 UTC
Just tried this with LibreOffice 4.2.2 and now the height is respected, so I'm changing the status of this bug to Resolved - Worksforme.

A big thank you to the person who fixed this issue.
