Created attachment 57927 [details] A screenshot with added pic and an extra space below it. Problem description: Steps to reproduce: 1. Insert a picture in a Writer 2. Make it as character Current behavior: See the extra space added right below the picture. Add any char right after the picture. The extra space below the picture now gone. Expected behavior: The pic should get anchored as char - that's all that should happen. No extra space below the picture should be added as a result. Platform (if different from the browser): Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:10.0.2) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/10.0.2
Thanks for bugreport not reproduced in 3.3.4 and 3.5.3 on Fedora 64 bit. May be fixed?
Nope. I'm on Kubuntu 12.04, LibreOffice 3.5.4.2 Build ID: 350m1(Build:2) - and the bug is still there. It's a very annoying one actually. Boris. Thanks for additional testing. May be I do something wrong. Please, attach odt document where picture placed, but not yet anchored as character. I will open this attachment and change anchoring. May be so this bug will be reproduced.

Thanks for attachment. Reproduced in 3.5.0 beta 3 on XP and 3.5.3 on Fedora 64 bit (using first document from attachment) Steps to reproduce: 0. Open 1_-_PicToPar.odt 1. enable View->Nonprinting characters now we see empty paragraph below picture 2. right mouse click on picture, Anchor->As character Actually: empty paragraph below picture disappears, but distance from picture to text below it remains so as if paragraph still exist (if we change character size of empty paragraph, distance still equal this empty paragraph) Expected: distance from picture to text below it is zero 3. place text cursor after picture or before picture and press Space Actually: distance below picture is fixed. What is interesting: this distance fixing is undoable by Ctrl-Z not reproducible in 3.3.4 and 3.4.2, therefore regression Here is another thing: in step 2 all works correct, but in step 3 distance from picture to text slightly increases.
But if after picture is no empty paragraph, then bug not appears. May be it is half done improvement of deleting unneeded empty paragraphs after picture. Empty paragraphs automatically added while adding pictures to document.
This can be confirmed all the way back to 3.5beta0 - likely from before that - unfortunately bibisect is not useful. Changing version and updating whiteboard
