When i save a writer document with background color as a ms doc file, the background color is lost when i reopen it.
Thanks for bugreport reproduced in 3.3.4, 3.5.4, 3.6.beta1 on Fedora 64 bit We should check if it happens during save to doc or during opening doc file (I have no Windows computer today for check it)
Checked with: LO 3.5.4.2 Build ID: own W7 debug build Windows 7 Professional SP1 64 bit Could not reproduce. Created a 1 page file filled with background color in 3/4 of a page. Both doc and docx files have background color after reopening (but docx is spanned to 2nd page, while doc is filled in 3/4 of a page, just as in odt).
Created attachment 63884 [details] test case of page color
Created attachment 63885 [details] previous document, saved as doc using 3.5.4 on Fedora 64 bit
Confirmed on master e4080dc (1 Oct, 16.50) using sasha's test page. bfoman, did you use the page background formatting option?
I saw a related cherry-pick patch passing by: http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=7cd378518b38def9cda5a0055a1d7525aad1c427 Can someone confirm this patch fixed the issue? Kind regards, Joren
LO 4.0.2 on Fedora 64 bit: saves background color into doc, but can not load color from there. M$Word2010 opens it with green color, Writer as white Not saves to docx, Word opens it as white

Can't confirm the fix. But can confirm this is still reproducible w LO 4.0.3.1 on OS X 10.8.3.
Due the fact .doc and .docx export rely on different code, we have to split this bug up. Thanks to Adam, he create Bug 65257 and sends a patch related to the .docx export :-). Let's convert this bug report to the .doc side. Kind regards, Joren
tested in OS X 10.9.4 with LO 4.3.0.4 opened testfile save as .doc quit LO reopen saved doc-file background color is still there
