KDE 4 environement for Linux has very nice feature to collect information about crash of any KDE program, seaching for missing *-debuginfo packages, and wizard to fill a bug with this collectes chash information. This is very good way to improve the quality of platform. I think LibreOffice must to have similar way to collect crash information, because it crash so frequently and accidentaly. Thank you for your report! I can't handle this report, but I did make it a little bit easier to find it. (If I understand correctly, this report is not about BASIC [the programming language!], but about basic = fundamental LibreOffice functions ... and it is an enhancement request, and it is specifically for the Linux version of LibO, so adjusted the fields.)
Created attachment 79563 [details] hs_err_* log files Only after https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?GoAheadAndLogIn=1&id=820579 bug I noticed, that LibreOffice generates a some crash files in my home folder (before that – I did not understanded, why these files are...). So maybe LibreOffice could try to catch crash event, suggest to include hs_err_* log file, attach a copy of backup document and prepare data for submition as bug report.
