I just played a bit with this. The problem is in the GIF file. Impress cannot display it. You can try and insert it in a new presentation, it will not be displayed. I'm closing this as Duplicate. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 42709 ***
This issue is still reproducible in Version: 6.0.0.0.alpha0+ Build ID: 616f21db9e50a77b0c02dfb123f871a742f46216 CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.10; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3; Locale: ca-ES (ca_ES.UTF-8); Calc: group I found something interesting... In GTK3, the background was displayed up to bea1dc5f8d17c1011cdfab1ff540f3e4b3a4d1bb, and now it's displayed without background, as in the rest of VCL backends. Caolán, does bea1dc5f8d17c1011cdfab1ff540f3e4b3a4d1bb give you any hint why the background is not displayed now ? [Bug found by office-interoperability-tools]
