Problem description: when I create an odt document with LibreOffice Writer in GNU/Linux, the document is much bigger, than the same document in WinXP. File thumbnail.png is rather big, especially in Linux. Expected behavior: I think this file should not take so much space. Moreover, I find this file completely useless, so it would be reasonable to remove this file at all. Platform (if different from the browser): Linux septem 3.2.0-24-generic #38-Ubuntu SMP Tue May 1 16:21:07 UTC 2012 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux i686; rv:12.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/12.0
We need more information than this, marking as NEEDINFO. What can be helpful: 1. Upload document showing the issue 2. You say "creat an odt document" but what does this document consist of? (uploading a case document is best) 3. When you say "same document in WinXP", are you saying on LibO in WinXP or MS Office? Please provide more information and open this up as UNCONFIRMED again. Thanks for your patience and help
Created attachment 69338 [details] This is an example document. As you can see, thumbnail.png take more then half of the document size - 9,2/18 kb. I've attached an example document. As you can see, thumbnail.png take more then half of the document size - 9,2/18 kb. It is not critical, but it can be annoying. I don't use MS Office at all - I use LibreOffice both under Xubuntu and under XP.
As discussed in LO-qa IRC-chat marking as new.
Importance goes from med to low.
With [1] fixed, the thumbnail size is now reduced from 9.2 kB -> 3.8 kB so I guess this is also fixed now. [1] https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=62104
