Description david.lazarus 2012-05-11 01:42:16 UTC
Problem description: n.b. this seems partially related to Bug 42952 but also has differences. Working with spreadsheet, attempt to save file for first time, save dialog open when Mac finder apparently has problem with Mac to Mac peer-peer share on same network. Finder 'having problem with <share name> message appears and one enters unbreakable loop - can click it away but it comes back and can't continue or cancel LO save dialog. Can switch to finder, terminate share message loop there but LO is hung, must force quit. Restarting LO gives message personal prefs are locked, suggests not continuing. Quit, restart Mac, LO recovers ok from autosaved copy. Can't reproduce this as no idea why transient network share problem occurred (could be someone tripped over a cable...).

n.b. - LO prefs says I'm using Mac dialogs

Hi,

Did you have TimeMachine running at the time the problem occurred ? For some reason, TimeMachine, LO and mdworker do not work together nicely.

There is already a bug report open against LO with regard to mdworker, it might be the same root cause (or maybe not).

(Status should be NEEDINFO according to comment #2.)

Dear bug reporter,

I am sorry, but we can not make any progress about this issue without further information from you. The important question in comment #1 has not been answered for a long time. Therefore we need to close this bug report for now.
Feel free to open it again, if you can reproduce this issue in a current version of LibreOffice (3.5.7, or better: 3.6.3 or newer).

Thank you very much!
