I did a quick test with LibreOffice 3.5, and your Word count extension worked without any problems after I had copied wc.py to C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\LibreOffice\3\user\Scripts\python (Win7) . Are you willing to maintain your extension. I asked the developer whether he is willing to maintain the tool for LibO.
Hi, I am the developer of the OO.O Live Word Count tool (although the name is outdated by now). I'm willing to maintain the functionality of the macro for the time being. I don't really have a lot of time to add features though. Please post bugs to the Bitbucket bug tracker at https://bitbucket.org/yawaramin/oo.o-live-word-count/issues?status=new&status=open Thanks, Yawar
@Rainer: Can this be closed a fixed?
(In reply to comment #2) > @Rainer: Can this be closed a fixed? Changed status to NEEDINFO.
We do not have it in repository (for users of 3.3, 3.4, 3.5), so not fixed.
@Rainer: Do we still need to make OO.o Live Word Count available for current 4.0 release? Following https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleaseNotes/4.0#Writer I think there were also some improvements related to Word Count etc. I don't know LibreOffice covers by default the full functionality of this extension? Kind regards, Joren
(In reply to comment #5) Has nothing to do with 4.0, it's a service required for users with 3.5 and older. Might be more or less the same like "Instant Word count" (see "Contributors") <http://extensions.libreoffice.org/extension-center/instant-word-count> If that ha been checked this one can be closed, because it's available.
Hi Rainer, (In reply to comment #6) > [...] > > Might be more or less the same like "Instant Word count" (see "Contributors") > <http://extensions.libreoffice.org/extension-center/instant-word-count> I can confirm that this extension is the same as my macro. Leif Lodahl (the extension publisher) and I have recently been collaborating on getting the macro up-to-date with recent LibO and getting the extension fixed. See also #53725. Now that the extension is available in the extensions centre, do we resolve this issue? Or can I ask to have it included in a default LibO distribution ... ? Thanks, Yawar
This bug is solved. You can ask to have the new extension included in the default distribution of LibreOffice. But please do in a new bug as the problem for this bug is solved. Thank you for your help.
