Problem description: 

Steps to reproduce:
1. Extract .xls file from archive
2. Try to open it with LibreOffice Calc


Current behavior:
Input/output error

Expected behavior:
Opened spreadsheet


Platform (if different from the browser): 
              
Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:13.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/13.0

LOdev 3.5.3rc1+ 
Build ID: 51648779-22e3d74-d554af7
Windows 7 Professional SP1 64 bit

File is viewable in Excel 2010.
Note: Excel 2010 complains about wrong extension when opening this file. When changed to .xml - no more warnings.

Hi,
the spreadsheet opens fine for me in LibreOffice 4.0.1 on Ubuntu.
Could you pls check a newer/the lates verion?

Still input/output error when opening this xls-xml document

Document opens fine on OS X 10.8.5, LO 4.1.1.2.

Also Ubuntu 13.04, LO 4.1.0.3 works great.

Pavel could you check the latest LO 4.1.x release and see if that works for you? Which windows are you on? Maybe windows only? And you might want to update your Java.

Confirm  works great for Ubuntu 13.04
But still Input/output error in Windows version

Windows 8 x64, Java 1.7.0_40,
LibreOffice 4.1.2.2
So I reopen the issue and change platform to Windows

@Pavel: 'Version' field is for the earliest version on which a bug is reproducible, so please don't change it to a later version. See https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/Bugzilla/Fields/Version#How_we_use_this_field
