This bug occurs because of the use of the package "lo-menubar". I'm trying to create a text box (on the drawing toolbar), then use the following sequence of menu "Insert" -> "Fields" -> "Date". Without the use of the package "lo-menubar" (in the original program), this menu item is disabled. Otherwise, the menu is active and causes the program to crash.
Hi DeJQit, please answer comment 1 & also inform your OS. From what source you installed LO?
(In reply to comment #4) > Hi DeJQit, please answer comment 1 & also inform your OS. > > From what source you installed LO? My OS version is "Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS", i386, Linux version: 3.2.0-50-generic-pae LO version is 3.5.7.2 ID build: 350m1(Build:2), installed from apt repository.

I can confirm that we can't insert Fields inside Text box (all options greyed) using LO 3.6.7.2 (Ubuntu 12.04 32bit). But I can't confirm crash since I don't use 'lo-menubar' (Unity disabled).
I also can confirm that features not available on LO 4.0.4.2 (Win7 32bit). Perhaps that crash related to unavailability of that features. @DeJQit, anyway your LO version is too old & unsupported anymore. You could use newer version from LibreOffice PPA: https://launchpad.net/~libreoffice/+archive/ppa
@DeJQit as already suggested upgrade to a newer stable LibO release (4.0.4 is out). do you still reproduce the issue? in the meantime I change status to NEEDINFO.
Now I upgrade LO to version 4.1.0.4 from the ppa. Installing the package lo-menubar fails due to dependencies. So, I can't install package and check bug!
Perhaps these posts could help you: http://askubuntu.com/questions/256837/libreoffice-4-0s-menu-bar-is-not-integrated-with-unity http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2113397 In my opinion, it's better not using lo-menubar (at least in 12.04).
