Description ossi83 2012-05-19 12:43:51 UTC
Links made by formula =HYPERLINK() are unusable. When I'm clicking it, dialog box appears:

"For security reasons, the hyperlink cannot be executed.
The stated address will not be opened."

Link made by hyperlink creator works fine but creator is not good solution in some cases.
Problem appeared in LibreOffice 3.5.3 and it still exists in 3.5.4 RC.

I was trying to fix it in security settings but there is no feature to change it.

In 3.6.0.4 (Build ID: 932b512) generating a link with =HYPERLINK() to an external file produces executable links, generating a link to a local file doesn't.

I would like to have HYPERLINK working with local references too. If this is a security issue it might be possible to give users a choice under options-security-...

Loffice writer;

Link made by hyperlink creator works ok when full path is given;
i.e. /home/john/Documents/report01.

When ~/Documents/report01 is entered error box appears;

   "For security reasons, the hyperlink cannot be executed.
    The stated address will not be opened."

NOT reproducible on Windows 7 with:

Version: 4.1.2.3
Build ID: 40b2d7fde7e8d2d7bc5a449dc65df4d08a7dd38

and NOT reproducible on ArchLinux with:

Version: 4.1.2.3
Build ID: 4.1.2.3 Arch Linux build-1

Please reopen if it still applies to you. See the test document for some examples.

To open the links: SHIFT + click on the link.
Comment 6 Thomas Arnhold 2013-10-16 19:07:05 UTC
I meant CTRL, sorry.
Comment 7 mhonline 2021-03-12 14:19:56 UTC
that function is not working
No .exe can be started
only docs/files by using the system-settings to interpret the file-extension (like *.doc etc)

In the example links file, only the TEST2 link to file://C:/Users/ works as a hyperlink, the others are plain text.

At that, neither the cell nor the formula bar shows the full link for TEST2. It just shows the "file://" portion but not the "C:/Users/" portion. The full link for TEST2 does appear in the tooltip, however.

This is reproduced in:
Version: 7.0.4.2 (x64)
Build ID: dcf040e67528d9187c66b2379df5ea4407429775
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 6.1 Service Pack 1 Build 7601; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: en-US (en_US); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

Please do not reopen this old bug. The new behavior was introduced in v.6.1 (cve-2019-9847), and should be tracked in tdf#140886.
