When opening an existing odt with LibreOffice Writer, the opening display is page 1 of the document. OpenOffice Writer opens at the last page viewed in a previous session. It's often preferable to open at the last page viewed instead of page 1.
Hmmm, although I think that this is a duplicate I set the status to NEW
Thanks. To explain the need; in a long document like a technical spec, one is often referring to a particular page or diagram. It's quite ease to use the scroll bar to get to page one. It's harder to find the particular page you often reference. Perhaps there could be an option in Settings to (a) always open on first page of document; or (b) open on page most recently viewed. I would prefer making option b the default, but that's just me.
I checked behavior with the latest LO. Writer ( 5.0.3.2 amd64) opens on Linux document not at the first page, but at the last EDITED page. But on Windows 7 Pro Writer (5.0.3.2 amd64) opens document ALWAYS at the first page. To reproduce this: 1. create/open document with several pages 2. edit something on non-first page 3. save document 4. open previously edited document again 5. Writer should open the last edited page. I'm not sure, whether is it the same bug or should I open the new one?
You have to fill in your name in Tools - Options - LibreOffice - User data. Otherwise the position will not be remembered. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 51821 ***
