ODT with lines

I can confirm this bug. Lines do disappear when saving as DOCX and reopening with LO. Opening the file with MS Word will display weird arrows.

The text completely vanishes.

I see this problem also in LO-3.4. I guess that we havn't implemented DOCX import/export of the connectors yet. So, it is not a regression and it can't block the release => reducing the severity a bit.

Hmm, LO-3.4 shows the connectors on wrong position even in ODT import. LO-3.6 is even worse. We do strange job here.

Display results of test done - before and after images

On 23 September 2016 I repeated the test and found that the bug had not been addressed by new versions of LibreOffice. The version I'm currently using is 5.1.4.2. Please see the attached document of the test.
Comment 10 Arno 2016-10-08 15:55:12 UTC
I compared the results I originally sent in and the recent test and there is clearly a difference in the sense that the connecting lines have not disappeared as they did but are not where they are supposed to be.

Test results

The version of LibreOffice I use on Ubuntu 18.04, namely 6.0.6.2, still has the same bug in it. Saving in the doc version works correctly but not saving in docx version.
Comment 23 Regina Henschel 2021-08-08 18:33:54 UTC
The lines exists when export by LibreOffice 7.3. But the lines do not reflect the current routing of the connectors in LibreOffice.

To get it exported as connectors, it would be necessary to use a drawing canvas. Such is not implemented yet.

Comment 25 Arno 2023-08-09 09:18:09 UTC
I currently used Libre Office version 7.5.5.2 (X86_64).
I created to same diagram that I originally had the problem with and saved it as a doc and docx.
I closed Writer, then opened it and loaded the save documents and the diagram was correct in both versions. No missing lines.

It seems to me that this bug can be marked as resolved.\

Thank you so much for all your efforts to fix bugs.

Dear Arno,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa
