Created attachment 62727 [details]
saved with msexcel10, lo opens correctly, error in lo pdf export

Steps to reproduce:

1a. Open my attached version.
1b. OR generate ods with MS Excel: simple enter '0' (just a zero character) to a cell, (I entered A1:1, B1:0, C1:2 just to see where it should be look for the 0), save it.
2. Open with libreoffice, the zero shows correctly.
3. Export pdf (or pdf/a-1a).
4. Open pdf with different viewers, the zero is not there!

What should happend:
The zero must be in the pdf.

Reproducable with:

Libre office 3.5.3 linux and 3.5.4 windows versions, the exported pdf viewed with different viewers/platforms. MS Excel 2010.

Note:
I do not know it is the pdf export's or libreoffice's error, but i think it is NOT the msoffice's error. I looked in the ods as zip file, it is pretty simple, very similar to what I generated with the same steps with libreoffice. For example the '1' and '2' have exactly the same context as the '0'.

1. MS excel opens the attached file with error because I deleted manually the "creator" from the .ods/meta.xml, otherwise this file works the same before this editing.

2. Ms Excel print to xps and save to pdf SHOWS the "0" (zero character), just like the libreoffice on the screen.

3. In the libreoffice the page preview NOT shows the 0, just like the .ods/Thumbnails/thumbnail.png what is generated by the msoffice.

I thought it may be some settings what I did not know about, so it is something default behaviour not a bug, but in that case why prints it the ms and why not the libre?

Confirmed with:
LO 3.5.4.2
Build ID: own W7 debug build
Windows 7 Professional SP1 64 bit

Generated PDF doesn't contain row with O value. Print preview neither.

Confirmed with:
LO 4.0.0.0.beta2
Build ID: own W7 debug build
Windows 7 Professional SP1 64 bit

Still an issue. Marking as NEW.

Format > Page, sheet tab : print zero value is unchecked.
I do not have Excel and I don't know if Excel manage this kind of settings and in case of they do, where ?

Have a look at your options in MS-Excel.

I have just experienced this with a document that was created in LO, edited in MS Excel then reopened in LO. It looks like MS Excel has either changed the value of Format > Page, sheet tab : print zero value, or just doesn't respect the original value in the ods file.

So the bug is either in MS Excel ods input/output or that it is the default behaviour of MS Excel when dealing with 0 value cells and printing
