Description th 2012-07-17 12:52:15 UTC
with the new conditional formatting UI i am unable to select a condition from another worksheet within the same calc file. This worked well until including LO 3.5

when the conditional formatting interface is open, i will NOT be able to click to another sheet, which is BAD. Btw. i do not see any extra value from the new conditional formatting UI.
Comment 1 Markus Mohrhard 2012-07-18 10:01:38 UTC
Conditional Formats are now a sheet property and no longer a document property so this will not be changed.

sorry markus, but your answer does not show that you are a "customer focussed" mind; why making a function worse than what it was? Just because it is easier to handle for programmers?

This function is VITAL, the whole revamp of the conditional formatting in LO 3.6 is far from perfect, there is room for improvement. So i kindly ask you to rethink your opinion and keep this bug open.

regards
tom

You can reopen it as often as you want. I will not fix this. This was a technical decision that was necessary and will not be changed. This will even ended up in the ODF proposal by me so you have no chance any more to get this changed.

markus, your response is very strange; Excel does it (benchmark), LO did it until version 3.5; OO does it; i think this is VITAL for LO in a corporate context as well, hopefully others will proof that i'm right; I didn't want to be impolite, so if YOU cannot change it, please leave this bug open; can this be played to someone else? i will reopen it anyway. kind regards tom

i wonder if there has been some "rethinking" or support for this to be re-implemented into LO, i consider this as VITAL.
Comment 6 m_a_riosv 2012-08-28 22:11:35 UTC
Please Markus can you explain what is the limitation:

- The conditional formatting UI only show conditions into the sheet in which the UI is open.

or

- No possible in a formula in the conditions use references to cells in another sheet.

Thanks in advance.
