Description Regina Henschel 2012-08-10 20:45:20 UTC
Created attachment 65403 [details]
Document with original drawing and exported pictures

The attached file has on page 1 the original drawings and on page 2 the exported pictures. They should look the same.

To reproduce:
Select a rectangle together with the character.
File > Export. Export to png. Make sure, that 'Selection' is set.

The error is not there, if you export the whole page.

You can see the error too, when you have a presentation and convert a shape to metafile and then switch to presentation mode.

The error is produced by the overlap in OutputDevice::ImplDrawLinearGradient in /core/vcl/source/gdi/outdev4.cxx. It occurs, if a metafile is used as target or in-between. Reason is that somewhere XOR is used in rendering metafiles.

I will not simple remove the overlap, because it has been introduced with purpose in r=72051f5a6bd84274e9312e13a7643b01f14b459f and r=da691c1416cdbe6f32d8f461ce2206cd41b3aa75

Still [Reproducible] with Server-installation of Master "3.7.0.alpha0+ – ENGLISH UI [Build ID: f2e622]" {tinderbox: Win-x86@16, pull time 2012-10-06 09:31:39} on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) UserInstallation=$SYSUSERCONFIG/LOdev/3

[Reproducible] with "LibreOffice 3.5.7.2 German UI/Locale [Build-ID: 3215f89-f603614-ab984f2-7348103-1225a5b] on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit)
[Reproducible] with Server Installation of "LibreOffice 3.5.1.2 German UI/Locale [Build-ID: dc9775d-05ecbee-0851ad3-1586698-727bf66] on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit)

Worked fine with
- Server Installation of LibreOffice 3.4.5 German UI [Build ID: OOO340m1 (Build:502)]" parallel Server installation on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit)
- Server Installation of "LibreOffice 3.3.3 German UI/Locale [OOO330m19 (Build:301) tag libreoffice-3.3.3.1] on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit)

So it seems problem came up somewhere with 3.5

I saw problem for all export file formats I tested (jpg, gif, tiff, ...)

I also can confirm the reported problem with metafile in presentation.

@Rainer:
I don't know, what you mean with "forward". The commits, which introduce the overlap, are done by Radex Doulik, so he is likely the right developer for it.

In AOO it is completely overworked, see commits r1394141,1392873, 1392807, and 1392804. (Search for author "alg" in https://fisheye6.atlassian.com/search/ooo/trunk). So it might be useful to discuss on libreoffice@lists.freedesktop.org, whether this single problem should be solved, or a more general solution is needed.

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present on a currently supported version of LibreOffice (4.3.5 or later): https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the version of LibreOffice and your operating system, and any changes you see in the bug behavior

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a short comment that includes your version of LibreOffice and Operating System

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case)

Thank you for your help!
