I've managed to create a myspell-en-nz.deb for the en_NZ (New Zealand English) language. Creating a .deb ensures that on the ubuntu/debian systems it is available to more than a single user of LibreOffice (and OpenOffice.org). What is the best way to ensure that this is available to users of LibreOffice (and linux systems in general through the myspell dictionaries).
Best is to poke Andras on the topic :-) My hope would be that we can reduce the size & duplication of these things by using multiple dictionaries a base "all-english" one, and then some US specific, GB specific, NZ specific derivatives etc. Not sure if that's how it works - but it'd be lovely to make it so if not. Anyhow - Andras; all yours :-)
There is already an oxt for the NZ English dictionary .. https://extensions.libreoffice.org/extension-center/english-new-zealand-dictionary-hyphenation-thesaurus
so this bug can be marked as RESOLVED WORKSFORME
