Created attachment 66500 [details] Sample .DOC file DOC files created in LO lose drawings after field update in MS Word 2007, when drawings are anchored "as character". Steps to reproduce: 1. In LibreOffice add some drawings to document. Group them and set anchor "as character". 2. Save as .doc MSWord 2003. 3. Open in MS Word 2007. 4. Press Ctrl+A to select all and then F9 to refresh all fields. Drawings disappear. I suspect that the problem is in the anchor as character. The change of drawing position from "inside text" to something different and back in Word 2007 fixes the problem. Drawings with other anchors are not influenced. LO 3.6.1.2 MS Word 2007 Home and Student (trial). Windows 7 SP1
Thanks for bugreport [reproduced] in 3.6.3 on RFR 17 64 bit with self-created document using original description. Produced DOC file behaves as described in msWord 2003 and 2007. [reproduced] in 3.4.2 on Windows XP 32 bit
unfortunaly I have no MS Word to test... does anybody still reproduce this issue with recent LibO 4.0.4 and 4.1.0 releases?
in 4.1.0 problem remains
ok. issue is still confirmed. moving from mab3.6 to mab4.0 since 3.6.x is no longer supported.
(This is an automated message.) Setting priority to highest as this is a 4.0 MAB. This is part of an effort to make the importance of MAB reflected in priority too.
Moving to mab4.1 (Bug 60270) because: - 4.0 reached EOL (End Of Life) - bug confirmed in later version
is this bug still valid in current 4.2.4.2 release? if yes, please move it from mab4.1 to mab 4.2 list since 4.1.x is EOL
Additional findings: Only happens with .doc (not docx) Only happens with anchor -> as character (none of the other 3 choices) Existed at branch point so this was inherited from OOo (version updated) Moving to mab4.2 as I see this being a potential problem with loss of data, also setting to major as there is loss of data.
please retest with 4.3.x or 4.4.x versions and tell if issue persists. I have to MS Word to test it personally
Ubuntu 14.04 x64 LibreOffice 4.3.4.1 release Microsoft Office 2010 I can confirm that the issue still exists but am taking it off of MAB. Reasoning below: Despite the issue being present since OOo days (thus not introduced by LibreOffice and not a regression) there appears to be a single user who has reported it and is affected by it. It requires a specific set of steps that is not affecting a lot of users. That being said, still boosting to Major as there is loss of data.
** Please read this message in its entirety before responding ** To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present on a currently supported version of LibreOffice (5.0.4 or later) https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the version of LibreOffice and your operating system, and any changes you see in the bug behavior the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a short comment that includes your version of LibreOffice and Operating System Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to "inherited from OOo"; 4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add "regression" to keyword Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=libreoffice-qa Thank you for your help! -- The LibreOffice QA Team This NEW Message was generated on: 2015-12-20
