Description Rainer Bielefeld Retired 2012-09-03 05:11:10 UTC
Steps how to reproduce:

1. Go to <http://www.libreoffice.org/>
2. Click "Download"
3. Click "Change System, Version or Language"
   leads to <http://www.libreoffice.org/download/?nodetect>
4. Click WINDOWS
   leads to languages list <http://www.libreoffice.org/download/?type=win-x86>
5. in new browser tabs open pages German, English, French, Spanish as examples
Bug: All these pages look dreary and desolate only offer 3 version numbers
        without any explication
At least some basic info concerning the versions should be contributed

I also checked a small sample with other OS and Languages, all the same.

Worksforme.

Please don't attach screenshots as pdf. Bugzilla refuses to have the browser render it (i.e. forces to download it) and thus people have to manually clean up and delete the downloaded files.

But to the issue (that I fail to see the problem with).

Yes, you only get the version selection in all three cases, but all of them work according to the selection you did choose when opening the tab.

You get the french version in the tab that was opened when clicking on french, you get the English one in the tab that was opened when clicking on English, you get German in the tab that was opened when clicking on German.

That three versions were offered was a temporary glitch. You're only meant to see the two release versions. RCs/other prerelease versions are separated by a different heading and a corresponding note, if there are any.

Yes, it is bothersome to have to click through three different pages just to switch the language (this is being worked on), but I fail to see the problem with the version selection page.

How often do you download stuff in different languages but in different versions? You won't download German in 3.5.x, and french in 3.6.x, will you?
