Screenshot with and without button

Dear LibreOffice Programmers,

Can we please have an option to disable the annoying floating "Full-Screen" button. The button is a nuisance for all but the most notice computer user. For many other programs such as graphic editors and video players, we routinely expect the user to press "Esc" to change from a full-screen mode, and I feel that it is safe to offer the user an option setting to do so.

I have written over 310,000 words in Writer, and I like it very much. I usually write in full screen, and the annoying button is always in the way, like to a fly on a hot summer day.

Given how people think, we tend to think of a foreground button as something that needs attention, which it does not.

Given how we think graphically, adding a single button in the middle of the screen breaks up the screen into ordinate areas, which is bad for the user. Docking the button takes a line or two of text, and on a netbook or a mobile computer that's too much space for something that should come from our instinct. Trapped? Press escape.

Sometimes less UI is more. When I write, all I want to see are the words and the page.

Please put in an option to remove this vestigial OpenOffice quagmire.

Thank you,
Brenda

This extension contains Basic macro which switches office to fullscreen mode.
Add this macro to Ctrl-Shift-J keyboard shortcut manually
Be aware that in this fullscreen mode Esc not works. Exit this mode will be possible only with Ctrl-Shift-J keyboard shortcut, so assign it beforehand and teach surrounding users about this shortcut

Writer still needs a option to disable the button. I do not understand why this bug is marked "unconfirmed" as it takes less than a minute to verify that the button exists.

Thank you for the extension link.

I confirm that the button is present.

ESC key works in LO 4.3.2.2 (Win8), you can quit the Full Screen View with it, but maybe one can think about an option in the TOOLS -> OPTIONS dialogue to switch off this button

Writer should still have an option for getting rid of this quagmire dialogue box. Writers will spend too much time chasing this thing around the screen.

Perhaps also, an option to shut off the dialogue, right on the dialogue box, would be good.

Sasha, thank you for the extension. I will try it, but I want Librie Writer better for the masses : )

Sasha, sorry but it's not working for me. Dialog is still there on full screen.

Thanks for testing my extension. It not changes behaviour of current FullScreen. It is *another* function which works like FullScreen we expect to work. But with one problem: Esc not working.
This makro should be assigned to keyboard combination Ctrl-Shift-J manually (sorry for inconvenience).
Macro tested on 4.3.1 and it works. But it is just workaround, main problem still remains there.
