The TDF site Download page performs OS and language detection. But it has a hyperlink "Change System, Version or Language" linked to http://www.libreoffice.org/download/?nodetect that seems a little sparse. The active links are scripts building pages by OS for a language selection.

An alternative and still active landing site might be the URL:

http://www.libreoffice.org/download-more/

Which has dropdown lists to select alternate OS and alternate language.

It seems like this page is a more efficient target for translated download instructions regards OS, Language and alternative download methods.

So reviewed this issue, and same question for web page content management.

Is there some advantage to the http://www.libreoffice.org/download/?nodetect alternate landing page--and its linking to additional download pages--as opposed to the more complete rendering of the http://www.libreoffice.org/download-more/ page?

I agree and hereby confirm this issue. Can the ?nodetect pages be considered duplicates and should be replaced by the the donwload-more links?
Comment 4 V Stuart Foote 2013-09-16 22:00:43 UTC
The http://www.libreoffice.org/download-more/ page remains a viable but unlinked alternative landing to the download/?nodetect which has also been orphaned.

If either or both are to be retained on the site they will need to be updated. In particular the download-more has static content referring to 4.0.2 final and 3.6.6 final.

This bug seems obsolete with the new layout. If needed, file an updated issue on Redmine.
