Description Björn Michaelsen 2012-10-14 14:16:59 UTC
At:

 https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/gitweb?p=core.git;a=rss

we have a RSS-feed showing recent commits.

It would be awesome to have a LibrOffice-Commits Tweeter that would tweet all those, so enthusiastic contributors can retweet them. http://twitterfeed.com/ should make that rather simple to set up.
Comment 1 Sam Oakley 2012-10-15 22:37:13 UTC
I'll give this a go, as you said it shouldn't be too hard to get going.
Comment 2 Sam Oakley 2012-10-15 22:49:18 UTC
I have the the twitter account set up and linked to the rss feed. However this has been done with my own email address. Is there an email address that I can transfer the accounts to? And a change of password that I can give to someone, or am I expected to maintain this account now?
Comment 3 Björn Michaelsen 2012-10-19 15:38:54 UTC
Awesome, that was quick!

@Florian: Can we created a TDF-owned twitter account called libreoffice-commits or the like?
Comment 4 Björn Michaelsen 2012-10-19 15:39:39 UTC
(sorry about the response time: conference is slowing things down.)
Comment 5 Björn Michaelsen 2012-10-23 19:42:20 UTC
@floeff: If you are stuffed with work, can you CC someone else from the infra team on this?
Comment 6 Florian Effenberger 2012-10-23 20:06:33 UTC
Best is to ping website@global.libreoffice.org, so we can find even more volunteers
Comment 7 Björn Michaelsen 2012-10-25 07:26:51 UTC
Done, with limited success so far:

Comment 8 Björn Michaelsen 2012-10-25 10:52:42 UTC
@Fridrich: Care to have a look at getting Sam running with the TDF infra?
Comment 9 Friedrich Strohmaier 2012-10-28 23:54:05 UTC
Not familiar with twitter stuff I presented the task our admins.

No answer so far so this seems not clear enough.

For clarification:
what exactly is needed to enable Sam to work?
Comment 10 Björn Michaelsen 2012-10-29 09:22:50 UTC
Sam ideally needs email account twitter-commits@libreoffice.org, so he can register a twitter account from that to link up with twitterfeed, I guess.
Comment 11 Florian Effenberger 2012-10-29 10:45:05 UTC
For legal reasons, we cannot hand out @libreoffice.org addresses before we have an e-mail policy. Unfortunately, this board task has not been dealt with for months, so I cannot make any promises.

Reason: If you filter e-mail for spam and viruses without having explicit acceptance by the address owner, you can even be held liable in criminal (!) law.
Comment 12 Björn Michaelsen 2012-10-29 10:54:32 UTC
If we never make Sam the legal owner of the account, but TDF instead, that should not be an issue, right? After all, this is a TDF account on all means and Sam is essentially the administrator for it.
Comment 13 Florian Effenberger 2012-10-29 10:55:47 UTC
Every natural person using that account needs to be shown the policies in advance, or we run into legal issues. It's sad, but true.
Comment 14 Björn Michaelsen 2012-10-29 11:05:49 UTC
*sigh* then give the account to me?
Comment 15 Björn Michaelsen 2012-11-15 11:04:03 UTC
hmm, I has some trouble with the forward, so I used my own email. Once the other email is there I will switch over.

@Sam: Thanks a lot for testdriving this!
