At: https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/gitweb?p=core.git;a=rss we have a RSS-feed showing recent commits. It would be awesome to have a LibrOffice-Commits Tweeter that would tweet all those, so enthusiastic contributors can retweet them. http://twitterfeed.com/ should make that rather simple to set up.
I'll give this a go, as you said it shouldn't be too hard to get going.
I have the the twitter account set up and linked to the rss feed. However this has been done with my own email address. Is there an email address that I can transfer the accounts to? And a change of password that I can give to someone, or am I expected to maintain this account now?
Awesome, that was quick! @Florian: Can we created a TDF-owned twitter account called libreoffice-commits or the like?
(sorry about the response time: conference is slowing things down.)
@floeff: If you are stuffed with work, can you CC someone else from the infra team on this?
Best is to ping website@global.libreoffice.org, so we can find even more volunteers
Done, with limited success so far: http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/fdo-55971-tweet-LibreOffice-commits-needs-your-help-td4015130.html
@Fridrich: Care to have a look at getting Sam running with the TDF infra?
Not familiar with twitter stuff I presented the task our admins. No answer so far so this seems not clear enough. For clarification: what exactly is needed to enable Sam to work?
Sam ideally needs email account twitter-commits@libreoffice.org, so he can register a twitter account from that to link up with twitterfeed, I guess.
For legal reasons, we cannot hand out @libreoffice.org addresses before we have an e-mail policy. Unfortunately, this board task has not been dealt with for months, so I cannot make any promises. Reason: If you filter e-mail for spam and viruses without having explicit acceptance by the address owner, you can even be held liable in criminal (!) law.
If we never make Sam the legal owner of the account, but TDF instead, that should not be an issue, right? After all, this is a TDF account on all means and Sam is essentially the administrator for it.
Every natural person using that account needs to be shown the policies in advance, or we run into legal issues. It's sad, but true.
*sigh* then give the account to me?
hmm, I has some trouble with the forward, so I used my own email. Once the other email is there I will switch over. see: https://twitter.com/LOcommits @Sam: Thanks a lot for testdriving this!
