Description Dirk Haar 2012-10-28 22:07:04 UTC
50%+ entries in menus are marked with special character carets, menus unreadable after installation of current GE version via SYNAPTIC.
When opening a spreadsheet, even column characters and line numbers are missing,
C J N Y AC, AJ, AN, AY, BC, BJ, BN, BY, CA-CH, and others are readable,
line 3,4,5, 13,14,15,23,24,25 are readable...

What is missing or went wrong in installation?

I had the same problem after installating manually from LO.org download,
so deinstalled all of it and tried with synaptic.

I need LO!

I'm using a fresh and stable Xubuntu 12.10 German.

Cut and paste from "about LO":

Version 3.6.2.2 (Build ID: 360m1(Build:2))

Visible is only one caret per character.
Comment 2 Dirk Haar 2012-10-29 00:06:09 UTC
same for
3.6.2.2 RC2 (from xubuntu repositories)
and

Version 3.6.2.2 (Build ID: da8c1e6), manually installed via new download form libreoffice.org.

The menu entries which can not be read differ from time to time and start to start.

Einen Workaround habe ich hier gefnuden:
http://forum.ubuntuusers.de/topic/libre-office-kann-menues-nicht-lesen/#post-4860477

Is this still an issue in the latest stable release?
Comment 5 Joel Madero 2013-12-20 15:27:22 UTC
Marking as NEEDINFO. Please provide clear steps on how to reproduce and an image would be nice so we can see what you see.

Once you provide steps and give us an attachment, and verify that it's still an issue with latest stable release, mark as UNCONFIRMED and we'll go from there.

Thanks for helping!
